Japanese hamburger steak recipe without pork, wine, and marine
Ingredients:
For the patty:
- 500g ground beef
- 1 small onion, finely grated or minced
- 1/2 cup panko breadcrumbs (or regular breadcrumbs)
- 1/4 cup milk
- 1 egg
- 1 tablespoon soy sauce
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
For the sauce:
- 1/4 cup ketchup
- 2 tablespoons soy sauce
- 1 tablespoon sugar
For cooking:
- 1 tablespoon vegetable oil or butter
Instructions:
1. In a bowl, combine the panko breadcrumbs and milk. Let it sit for a few minutes until the breadcrumbs absorb the milk.
2. In a large mixing bowl, add the ground beef, grated onion, soaked panko breadcrumbs, egg, soy sauce, salt, and black pepper. Mix everything together until well combined. Avoid overmixing to keep the patties tender.
3. Divide the mixture into equal portions and shape them into oval or round patties, about 1-inch thick.
4. Heat the vegetable oil or butter in a skillet over medium heat. Once hot, add the patties to the skillet and cook for about 4-5 minutes on each side, or until they are cooked through and browned.
5. While the patties are cooking, prepare the sauce by combining ketchup, soy sauce, and sugar in a small bowl. Mix well until the sugar dissolves.
6. Pour the sauce over the cooked patties in the skillet, and let it simmer for a minute or two, allowing the flavors to meld.
7. Serve the Japanese hamburger steaks with steamed rice, and you can also add a side of vegetables or a simple salad.
Enjoy your delicious Japanese hamburger steak! This version omits pork, wine, and marine ingredients, but it still offers a flavorful and satisfying dish.
